Canvass Launches Public Lands Campaign

Ending the summer with over 150,000 signatures on the Environmental Bill of Rights, the Sierra Club canvass brought the message to hundreds of thousands of Americans that the 104th Congress has declared an all-out War on the Environment. The fall message focuses on the threats this Congress poses to our precious public lands.

With more than 30 offices operating with a goal of recruiting more than 20,000 new members, the canvass will educate Americans on the vulnerability of places such as the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, Utah wilderness and Northeast forests.

Fall canvass offices are in the following locations: Albuquerque, N.M.; Amherst, Mass.; Ann Arbor, Mich.; Atlanta, Ga.; Austin, Texas; Baltimore, Md.; Bellevue, Wash.; Boulder, Colo.; Burlington, Vt.; Chapel Hill, N.C.; Charlotte, N.C.; Cleveland, Ohio; Eugene, Ore.; Evanston, Ill.; Hartford, Conn.; Honolulu, Hawaii; Houston, Texas; Madison, Wis.; Manhattan, N.Y.; Mar Vista, Calif.; Miami, Fla.; Minneapolis, Minn.; Newport Beach, Calif.; Philadelphia, Pa.; Washington, D.C.; San Francisco, Calif.; Santa Barbara, Calif.; Santa Cruz, Calif.; and St. Louis, Mo.
