The Planet

November 1997, volume 4, number 9

Members of the British Columbia Chapter's Lower Mainland Group tried to get a reaction from passing motorists during a protest in front of a Shell gas station in Vancouver. The group joined other environmental and human-rights organizations to form the Ogoni Solidarity Network, which staged protests at a Shell station every week for the past year. Shell officials have informally asked the group what they can do to stop the boycott. See Grassroots Activists Tackle Global Issues for details.
