World on the Web: Cruising, Web Style

by Sierra Club Webmaster John Kealy

You won't yet see many "clean cars" on the road, but you can find plenty of them on the World Wide Web.

Energy expert Amory Lovins and his Rocky Mountain Institute are promoting the design for a lightweight, efficient "hypercar" at www.hypercar.com. He retools the auto from the ground up, incorporating a hybrid-electric engine with an ultralight body, aerodynamic design, and low-rolling-resistance tires.

To delve into the new world of fuel cells and find out how they may revolutionize the way we drive, head to www.fuelcells.org.
