For decades, Sierra has covered the skirmishes between Club activists and those who would drill, develop, graze, and pave Utah's fabulous Red Rock Wilderness. In "Paradise Found" in 1998, T.H. Watkins reported that Utah had 3 million more acres of wilderness than commonly believed; the year previous, Senior Editor Paul Rauber surveyed the new Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument from a mountain bike in Kaiparowits for Keeps.
