Screw the base plate back onto the base with the lamp cord running out of the original blender-cord hole (you may need to remove the switch and plug first and then reattach them).

Pop the pitcher on and screw in a bulb—compact fluorescents shouldn't overheat the glass even with the lid on, but if you are worried, keep the lid off. Turn on your lamp and admire this illuminating blend of old and new.
