Polar Bear

Polar bears greatly depend on the seasonal changes of Arctic sea ice. Eroding ice masses force the bears to travel thousands of miles a year and risk drowning as they search of food. Less ice also affects the survival rates of ringed and bearded seals--the polar bear's prime source of food, and shorter winters shorten the bears' opportunity to give birth and raise young in snow caves.
