End Antibiotics Use in Animal Factories

End Antibiotics Use in Animal FactoriesAs antibiotics flood into animal factories, bacteria grow resistant, making the antibiotics less effective, in humans and farm animals alike. Recently the FDA issued a ban on Baytril, one of the most common antibiotics given to chickens. Send a fax to Bayer, the company that produces Baytril, asking them not to challenge the ban.

Recruit Green Teens

The Backstreet Boys and the Sierra Club are teaming up again this summer. As the pop group goes on tour, Club volunteers will be in the lobby, handing out flyers and educating concertgoers about national and local environmental issues. To volunteer, check out the concert schedule at www.backstreet boys.com/tour/ to see if they'll be passing near you, then call (202)547-1141 to sign up.

Derail Fast Track

Fast-track authority limits the ability of Congress to amend trade deals negotiated by the president. When these pacts face little discussion and debate, the environment loses and large corporations gain. Tell your representative to vote "no" on fast track and to replace it with a "right-track" policy that preserves environmental, health and labor protections.
