Board Adopts New Policies, Designates New Honorary Vice Presidents

At its November 16-18, 2001, meeting, the Board of Directors adopted a $78 million budget for 2002, made minor changes in the national election rules, and designated six senior Club leaders as honorary vice presidents -- Richard Cellarius, Jim Dodson, Elden Hughes, Joe Fontaine, Nick Robinson and Sandy Tepfer.

The board also adopted a tiered set of priorities for its fundraisers, set guidelines on dealing with some kinds of conflicts of interest, approved a new set of guidelines for volunteer-staff relations (to be overseen by the Organizational Effectiveness Governance Committee), accepted new principles for e-mail outreach to Club members and created a new Training Governance Committee.

The following members were named by the Nominating Committee as candidates for the Board of Directors election to be held in 2002 - James Catlin, Larry Fahn, James Mays, Chuck McGrady, Patrick Murphy, Charlie Ogle, Lois Snedden and Bernie Zaleha.

Full texts of the resolutions adopted will be posted at: www.sierraclub.org/bod/minutes/
