compound of powdered bronze and resins).
Patinas and wax are applied to protect its finish. Mounted on a hardwood base.

The Idea
The sculptor, William Pettee, explains his inspiration for creating this Muir
Bust, "The Inspiration" - (Bust 2 of 2), as follows:
John Muir at age 52 (1890)
Depicts him later in life when Yosemite became a National Park. Two years later
he founded the Sierra Club.
