Lady Liberty 2011 and John Muir 1964 Combo SS John Muir Liberty Ship First Day Cover


This First Day Cover features the First Day of Issue for the Lady Liberty stamp issued on April 8, 2011, and is postmarked on that date. The accompanying John Muir stamp is from the 1964 issue.

The cachet features a photo of Muir, with the silhouette of a typical Liberty Ship, and the text: "World War II Liberty Ships - SS JOHN MUIR - Delivered December 31, 1942 by Marinship Corp. Sausalito, Calif. The color printed cachet is #8198 designed by Alvin Eckert #9964, USCS.

There is another First Day Cover featuring the First Day of Issue for the U.S. Flag postage stamp issued on January 29, 2016 with the same cachet.
