Four senators - Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.), Olympia Snowe (R-Maine), Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) and Susan Collins (R-Maine) - introduced a bill to raise the average fuel-economy standards for SUVs, pickups and minivans from the current 20.7 mpg to 27.5 mpg.
