Unscrew the blender pitcher and take out the blades. Remove the blender base plate by turning the blender upside down and undoing the screws (you might need to pull off the rubber feet first).

Extract the motor, which connects to the base with wires and one long central bolt that runs up to the friction ring, which turns the blades. Snip the wires and unscrew the long bolt, then tug the ring off with pliers to free the motor. Set it aside, along with any mixed feelings. Your beloved blender is attaining enlightenment.
