Asa Gray

American Botany"
- John Muir and
Asa Gray shared several botanical expeditions together. Muir traveled
with Sir Joseph Hooker, Asa Gray, and John
Bidwell around the Lassen
Peak and the Mt. Shasta region botanizing in the summer of 1877.
- Gray named
several plants after Muir, which Muir had collected for him. Erigeron
muirii , Muir's Fleabane, was named by Gray.

of North America (1838 - 1843) (New York: Wiley & Putnam) in 2 volumes.
